Body found
Pakur, Nov. 25: The body of a 25-year-old man was found from a forest on the outskirts of Baghela village in Littipara on Wednesday.
According to DSP Kishore Kaushal, the deceased, A. Hansda, had gone to the village market three days ago but did not return. Kaushal said he might have died of cold as there was no injury mark on his body.
News meets
Ranchi: Chief minister Raghubar Das on Wednesday directed the heads of various departments to hold news meets once in a month to apprise the commoners of welfare and development works taken up by his government. In Ranchi, the media addresses will be held at noon from December 3. The road construction department will be the first to host a news meet.

Dumka: The district administration on Wednesday launched awareness drives at different schools of Masalia block in Dumka to ensure greater participation of parents in the ongoing panchayat elections.
Body found
The body of a 32-year-old man, who was missing since November 13, was recovered from Sirka Nayatoli in Sikidiri on Wednesday.
Police said Peter Mahato had been murdered and his body dumped in the forest area. Police have detained three persons in this connection.
Godown fire
A fire broke out at a godown where shoes were stocked near New Market area on Ratu Road on Wednesday evening. Though no casualty has been reported, goods were damaged. A garbage dump nearby caught fire, which then spread to the godown.
Blood camp
RIMS on Wednesday collected 95 units during a daylong blood donation camp held on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti at Gurunanak School. The camp was held by NGO Life Saver on behalf of RIMS.
Convocation
The first annual convocation of National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL) will be held on November 28 in Ranchi. Supreme Court Justice M.Y. Eqbal will preside over the ceremony while governor Droupadi Murmu will be chief guest.
Theatre
A 45-day theatre workshop will be held at Ranchi College from November 30 to January 25 by theatre group Exposure with central support.
Jewellery stolen
Gold and diamond ornaments worth over Rs 3 lakh were stolen from a house at Baridih’s Azad Path in Sidhgora on Tuesday evening.
According to an FIR lodged by victim Sandeep Kumar Singh, he came from Calcutta along with his family to attend a wedding at Sidhgora, for which they brought their jewellery.
Assault & loot
A gang of six-seven men barged into the house of businessman Raju Thakur at Sundernagar on Wednesday, robbing him of his cellphone and Rs 2,000 in cash and assaulting him. Thakur lodged a complaint with Sundernagar police.
Bike theft
A bike parked on the premises of a residential building at Kadma was stolen on Wednesday. Police registered a theft case based on an FIR lodged by owner Vikram Singh.
Award
Aswini Jha, second-in-command of Surendernagar-based 106 Battalion camp of RAF, will get Lord Baden Powell National Award 2016 for his service to humanity. Jha will receive the award from President Pranab Mukherjee on February 22.
