Ranchi, Nov. 2: The condition of Chatra deputy commissioner Puja Singhal Purwar is stable and she is also “feeling better”, said Apollo Hospital medical superintendent P.D. Sinha.

Tests and examinations, including endoscopy and ultrasound, were conducted today and the results were normal, Sinha said.

Last evening, Puja was brought to the Apollo Hospital from Chatra after she suddenly collapsed at her official residence.

She was first taken to the Sadar hospital in Hazaribagh after falling unconscious around 11am yesterday.

After regaining her senses, she had complained of a sharp pain on her waist, as if a needle had been thrust. She had also vomited blood.

At Apollo, she was admitted to the intensive cardiac care unit and her condition had started to stabilise following treatment.

Various tests were conducted today and she has been shifted to a room.

The deputy commissioner, in her early thirties, would be under “observation” for some more time, Sinha said.

Purwar’s family members, including husband Rahul and their two daughters, have joined her at the hospital.

Rahul had to rush from Bangalore after getting information about the condition of his wife. An IAS officer, Rahul is the registrar of co-operative societies.
