The job scene for Industrial Training Institute (ITI) graduates has just become bigger and better.
Tata Motors Ltd will recruit as many as 500 youths who have passed out from ITIs for its Pantnagar plant located in Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand.
Two selection camps are being organised by the state labour, employment and training department as a facilitator in Dhanbad and Ranchi on January 16 and 17, respectively. Shortlisted candidates will have to go to Pantnagar for interviews and medical check-ups. Travelling allowance will be borne by the company.
While the camp in Dhanbad will be held at the sub-employment exchange on January 16, a similar exercise for Ranchi will take place at government-owned Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Hehal, on January 17.
Of the 500 candidates, 200 will be hired for posts of temporary operators and another 300 as trade apprentices.
Those who have done specialisation in trades like fitter, diesel mechanic, welder, electrician, turner, machinist, painter and sheet metal and are aged between 18 and 26 years can turn up at the selection camps. They have to bring along their marksheets and certificates of Class X exams, ITI marksheets/certificates, four passport-size coloured photos (in grey shirt with red background), documents of other qualifications and employment exchange cards (if available). The PAN card has to be produced at the time of joining.
“ITI degree-holders may come to try their luck at both the venues on the designated dates. The shortlisting process will be on from 10am to 4pm,” Satish Suman, assistant director in the state labour, employment and training department, told The Telegraph.
At present, the monthly salary of the finally chosen ones will range between Rs 5,500 and Rs 7,650. Sources said the youths might also be absorbed as permanent employees of the company depending on their performance.
Sources in the labour department revealed that they would organise an employment fair in the West Singhbhum district headquarters of Chaibasa soon.
However, the dates are yet to be decided even though the department has received positive response from interested recruiters.
Notably, West Singhbhum, a tribal-dominated district, is on the Union rural development ministry’s development radar with projects being planned in Saranda forests spread across Manoharpur and Chakardharpur blocks.
