New Delhi, June 18 (PTI): Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met Bharatiya Janata Party patriarch L K Advani, in the first interaction with Advani since the party’s decision to anoint Modi the chief of its poll campaign committee split the National Democratic Alliance.

Modi drove to Advani's residence for the meeting, which comes days after Advani showed his displeasure at being sidelined over the Modi issue by resigning from three key party posts. Advani, however, later withdrew his resignation following a telephonic talk with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh  chief Mohan Bhagwat and persuasion by BJP leaders.

Modi is in Delhi primarily to meet Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia and finalize the state's annual plan.
