Shah Rukh Khan with Farah Khan in 2008 |
Mumbai, Jan. 31: After one tight Bollywood slap, a family film-style reunion with hugs, tears and laughter.
Farah Khan and her husband Shirish Kunder went over to Shah Rukh Khan’s Bandra home this evening and spent three-and-a-half hours there.
“Shah Rukh and I just met, had a heart-to-heart chat and have resolved all misunderstandings. All animosity is now sorted for good,” tweeted Kunder, who claimed to have been slapped by Shah Rukh at a bash thrown by Sanjay Dutt in a Juhu lounge bar in the early hours of Monday.
According to eyewitnesses, an inebriated Kunder, who is a film director, followed Shah Rukh around in the Juhu bar and trailed him to the bathroom after the actor expressed displeasure over Kunder’s critical tweets on Ra.One. Host Sanjay intervened to stop the scuffle.
The patch-up was initiated by Farah’s younger brother and director Sajid Khan, who took the couple to Mannat.
Sajid said: “Farah and SRK have patched up. I took the initiative. Gauri is my rakhi sister. They hugged each other and made up. It’s a relationship of 20 years.”
After the fence-mending, Kunder, who has become the butt of jokes in Twitterverse, turned philosophical. “Some incidents in our life when resolved makes relationships stronger than they were ever before,” he posted after leaving Mannat.
Earlier, he had tried to put on a brave face when he became the butt of nasty Twitter jokes. “Some of your jokes on the incident were very funny. including the ones on me. Keep up the humour. I’ll be back soon,” he wrote.
Kunder and Farah had taken to Twitter after the incident to slam Shah Rukh.
The actor also posted a tweet but only to describe the incident as a “Shakespearean farce”. “Reading stuff and watching tv…feel like I am the source and author of a Shakespearean farce…without the poetry or the prose of course!!!,” his tweet read.
Farah, who was among Shah Rukh’s buddies when she directed him in Main Hoon Naa and Om Shanti Om¸ said it was an emotional reunion. “We hugged, cried, laughed and made up,” she told a news channel. “SRK, Gauri, Shirish and I were all unhappy about it. Things had gone out of hand. Now everything is sorted out. SRK and Gauri had done my kanyadaan,” she said.
Producer Sajid Nadiadwaa, a friend of both Farah and Shah Rukh, was also at Mannat.
