Srinagar/New Delhi, Sept. 14: Two Jammu teenagers have been arrested for their alleged role in sending an email that claimed terror outfit HuJI was responsible for last week’s Delhi High Court blast which claimed over a dozen lives.

Home ministry sources in Delhi said Shariq Khawar Bhat and Abid Hussain Bhawani, both class XI students, had been remanded in custody for 10 days. “The two are accused of sending the email within hours of the blast last Wednesday. We have found some contradictions in their statements,” said an official with the National Investigation Agency.

Home secretary R.K. Singh said “some people have been arrested and they are being interrogated”, but refused to divulge details.

A team of NIA officials and police picked up Shariq and Abid, who were today remanded by a court in Kishtwar. The two are accused of sending the email, which also threatened more attacks if Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru was not released.

Abid’s father Ataullah Bhawani said his son was picked up yesterday. “He is still in their custody.”

The NIA has raised the reward money from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh for any information leading to the blast culprits.
