Hyderabad, Aug. 18: The personal security guard of Telugu actor N. Balakrishna, the son of N.T. Rama Rao, was murdered today, reports our special correspondent.

Police said 30-year-old Loknath Sahil was killed when he tried to stop a gang of thieves who had entered the actor’s Jubilee Hills residence and were making away with cash and jewellery worth Rs 75,000.

Sahil bled to death after the thieves crushed his head with a heavy granite slab.

The police have not ruled out the role of Balakrishna, arrested in early June for allegedly shooting at film producer B. Suresh and his aide at his residence, in the death.
