The court had on January 19 extended the interim bail granted to the three which ended today.

The case relates to alleged money laundering in granting the operational contract of two IRCTC hotels to a private firm.

The CBI had registered a case in 2017 and carried out searches at 12 locations in Patna, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar and Gurgaon.

The charges in the case include criminal conspiracy (120-B), cheating (420) under IPC and corruption, the central probe agency had said.

Also named in the CBI chargesheet are former Union minister Prem Chand Gupta and his wife Sarla Gupta, and a clutch of IRCTC officials.

The chargesheet also names Vijay Kochhar and Vinay Kochhar, both directors of Sujata Hotels and owners of Chanakya Hotel, Delight Marketing Co, now known as Lara Projects, and Sujata Hotels.

The CBI says the accused conspired to transfer the BNR hotels of Indian Railways, at Puri and Ranchi, first to IRCTC and then hand over their operations on a lease to Sujata Hotel, which is based in Patna.

The CBI says the tenders were rigged to favour Sujata Hotels.
