Black balloons were released as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mi-17 helicopter took off from Vijaywada’s airport on Monday, following which the SPG has sought an explanation from the state.

State police denied any security breach but said Congress workers were arrested for trying to enter the airport with black balloons.

Some Congress workers climbed a building in a village far from the airport and released black balloons. The balloons were floating as the two choppers flew past but it was not clear if they were anywhere close.
