Chandigarh, July 27: Six persons were today found guilty in the 1995 assassination of then Punjab chief minister Beant Singh while one accused was freed after spending 11 years and 11 months in jail.

Beant Singh was killed by a suicide bomber, Punjab police constable Dilawar Singh, on August 31, 1995, outside the secretariat. Fourteen others also died in the attack.

The sentence will be announced tomorrow.
