Amid the ongoing India's name change to Bharat debate, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has changed the name of his forthcoming film to 'Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue.' Earlier it was titled 'Mission Ranigan: The Great Indian Rescue,' as per media reports.

The movie is based on the life of mining engineer Jaswant Singh Gill, who rescued 65 miners from a flooded quarry in West Bengal in 1989. However, netizens noticed the actor previously used India instead of Bharat in the title of his film.

Netizens speculated that Akshay is showing his support for the Modi government by changing the title of his film.

While fans expressed excitement, a section of netizens started trolling the actor for using the name 'Bharat.' One said, 'Aapki agli movie ka name BHARAT to nahin Akki bhai?', another wrote, 'Why did you delete the tweet in which it was written 'India’s true hero' and changed it to 'Bharat’s true hero'? This is how you got your Indian citizenship by bootlicking the govt?'

Sharing the film's motion poster with his fans, Akshay wrote on Instagram, "Heroes don't wait for medals to do what's right! Watch the story of Bharat's true hero with #MissionRaniganj in cinemas on 6th October. Teaser out tomorrow!"

In addition to the lead actors, the film also stars Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra, Ravi Kishan, Varun Badola, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Rajesh Sharma, Virendra Saxena, Shishir Sharma, Ananth Mahadevan, Jameel Khan, Sudhir Pandey, Bachan Pachera, Mukesh Bhatt, Omkar Das Manikpuri in key roles.

'Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue' is produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, and Ajay Kapoor.

The Bharat vs. India argument began when President Draupadi Murmu sent official dinner invitations to heads of state and chief ministers during the G20 Summit in New Delhi, which sparked a controversy because the word "India" was changed to "Bharat."
