This visit, his first since assuming command as the 30th Chief of the Indian Army on June 30, holds significant importance amid the ongoing Amarnath Yatra and extensive anti-terror operations, particularly in the hilly terrains of the region.

Upon his arrival in Jammu, Gen Dwivedi immediately flew to the critical border district of Poonch. There, he assessed the security landscape and operational readiness of the troops stationed along the LoC.
