Few can better Johnny Depp’s wicked sense of humour, but this one is a real stinker.

The Hollywood heartthrob played a prank on the sets of the latest Pirates Of The Caribbean movie — by letting loose a fart machine! His favourite victim? Leading lady and long-time friend Penelope Cruz.

“When I met him 10 years ago, he had a plastic fart machine and now he has one with a remote control!” the Spanish hottie was recently quoted as saying.

Cruz first experienced Depp’s wacky humour on the sets of their 2001 drug drama Blow.

“When I was doing a very dramatic close-up and he kept making that sound with the machine and I kept saying (to myself), ‘Who is it, is it the sound guy?’ And I remember thinking, ‘I hope they are not thinking it’s me!’ And Johnny was there with a straight face.”

However, the Oscar-winning actress is not the only one being targeted by Depp and his fart machine on the sets of The Pirates Of The Caribbean — “Now he is doing it to (producer) Jerry Bruckheimer and Rob Marshall, the director, and to everybody!” revealed Cruz.

Who will Depp’s next victim be? The Blow man ain’t telling!
