Rituparna Sengupta has become Mona, a cabaret dancer, for Nitish Roy’s murder mystery Tadanto. On Monday evening, Ritu was raring to shoot the cabaret number Jejon premer bhab jane na at Belgachhia Rajbari. “My character Mona makes her ends meet by dancing in a bar. This particular dance number is shot exactly like the numerous Helen numbers. I am really excited because some of the dance moves are what Helen did in most of her films.... And I love the costume,” said Rituparna, whose Mona gets involved in a conspiracy revolving around a murder in the bar. “Nitishda has been wanting to work with me for a long time and I just couldn’t let go of this meaty role. On the sets we are having a lot of fun as my co-stars (Koushik Sen, Debshankar Halder and Goutam Halder) tease me by calling me ‘Mona Darling’!” she laughed.
