Housefull

Ever since the tiger promos of Sajid Khan’s forthcoming biggie Housefull have gone on air, there have been more and more murmurs about the multistarrer (Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal, Lara Dutta, Riteish, Jiah Khan) being copied from last year’s Hollywood hit The Hangover.

In the English movie, a tiger was found in the bathroom when the three guys wake up in the morning. The Housefull promo also has a tiger roaming around the house.

As you would expect, the allegations of plagiarism haven’t gone down well with motormouth Sajid who takes great pride in his knowledge of world cinema.

The Hangover

The Heyy Babyy maker says: “I could see these accusations coming! Yes there is a tiger in the house but I’m not dumb enough to rip off a scene from a recent hit film, tweak my original screenplay of Housefull to forcibly incorporate it and then show it to the audience through promos so that the rumour mongers can start debating about a lift from The Hangover.”

So what is the tiger doing there? According to a source who’s seen the film: “Akshay brings the tiger into the house as a gift for Lara.”

We will know all about Housefull’s hangover when it releases on April 30, after the last IPL 3 six has been hit.
