Currently in cinemas with Vikram Bhatt’s Hacked, actress Hina Khan is excited about her full kitty this year.

Last year, the 32-year-old featured as the negative lead in the Kasautii Zindagii Kay reboot. This year she has a Hollywood project in The Country of Blind, a Zee5 original that she’s shooting, and another big announcement in the pipeline.

About Rahat Kazmi’s The Country of Blind, she said: “It’s my first Hollywood film and is based on a H.G. Wells short story. We shot in the Himalayas. It is a story set in the 13th century about inhabitants of a valley who have no attachment to the outside world. I am completely unglamorous, playing a blind girl who has unkempt hair and wears clothes made of animal skin. I loved my character.”

Stressing that her performance is her focus, the actress, who started her TV career in 2009, said: “A lot of actors are conscious about their profile, hair and angles. But I have never done that. My first priority is my performance. I am ready to do anything.”

On the same note, speaking about her Kasautii character (Komolika), she added: “I was not sure about that role as I needed to be out of my comfort zone. But it turned out to be a huge success. Ekta Kapoor wanted me to do the role and she proved me wrong. I want to try out new things with every performance.”

Working on Hacked, co-starring Rohan Shah, however, got her scared about the extent of hacking. “I have become more conscious about how I use my phone now. If you put your cellphone beside someone else’s phone you can get hacked. They can access the WiFi and CCTV cameras… I get scared of everything these days.”

Working with Vikram on the film that released last Friday was fantastic, she said. “I have worked in TV and have been over the top. Initially I was nervous as Vikram asked me to do less. He is realistic. I had to do a lot of facial exercises to get into the character. He has so much experience. Even Salman Khan told me that I am in good hands.”
