“All this white hair? You’ve really grown old!”
“And where did that belly come from? You used to be the fastest runner in school!”
That’s the kind of conversation that floated in from every corner at Don Bosco Alumni Park Circus Unit (ING) Nostalgia 2016, partnered by The Telegraph. More than 200 past pupils got together at Don Bosco School Park Circus on December 17 for the programme that was inaugurated by Father Bikash Mondal (inset), the principal of Don Bosco Park Circus, and Noman T. Vadnagarwala, the president of the alumni association. “This event is rightly called Nostalgia because that is what it is all about. All the students look forward to this event and fly down from around the country and beyond just for it. It’s a reminder that the school will always belong to them,” said Father Mondal.
With DJ Ayan belting out retro numbers like Jumma chumma de de and Piya tu ab to aaja, the action soon shifted to the dance floor.
“It is a privilege to head the alumni association. The annual reunion is the most popular programme on our calendar. All of us look forward to it as we get to relive the good ol’ days,” said Noman T. Vadnagarwala, the president of the Don Bosco Alumni Park Circus Unit and a student of the 1982 batch.
The batch of 1992 marked 25 years of leaving school. Every member of the batch who attended the reunion was felicitated and the ex-students shared anecdotes about each other. Asked to name one unique thing about their batch, the reply was unanimous — appearing for ICSE examinations twice because of a glitch!
