George Clooney was taken to hospital after being involved in a traffic accident while driving a scooter in Sardinia, where he is making Catch-22.
The actor-director was reported to be only lightly injured after colliding with a car near the town of Olbia, in the north of the island. He was taken to the hospital with “trauma to his knee”, according to local reports.
He was later discharged but will need a course of physiotherapy to repair the damage. His wife Amal rushed to the hospital after the accident, according to La Nuova Sardegna, a local newspaper.
Clooney had just left his hotel on the Costa Corallina — the Coral Coast — and was driving to the set of his new TV series, when he was reportedly hit by a car. The driver of the Mercedes Estate stopped and called for help.
