An Awadh invasion at the Gateway hotel

With the Pujas around the corner, Calcutta is busy gearing up for all the good eating that looms ahead. In the spirit of festive gluttony, The Gateway Hotel has launched an Awadhi Kebab Festival, on till the end of October. “Kebabs are very popular. They are in demand all the time...during meals, as side orders, as part of a platter, as a snack with a drink... and Awadhi kebabs stand out from the kebabs that are readily available in most places. I went to Lucknow and picked up all kinds of Awadhi kebabs but the ones we’ve chosen, such as the Mahi Gulfam, Banno Kebab, Raan-e-Musallam, are the ones we are sure Calcuttans will love,” said Asish Roy, executive chef of The Gateway Hotel on the Bypass-Kasba connector. t2 takes a bite of some royal flavours.
