A tall, slim woman wearing super-stylish clothes is gliding down a mall escalator. She is, unlike other office-goers though, waving her hand at the others in mini-shakes, celeb-style. But even that looks everyday compared to another fact: her face is masked. In fact so is her body, from top to toe.
The Instagram page Checking_Invoices is a scream. In a Munch kind of way. Like the name, the posts poke fun at the fashion industry, yet highlights good designs. The model here is always masked. By erasing her face and personality, she has turned herself into the perfect walking mannequin, a literal embodiment of the requirements of fashion. But the message is sent out with great fun, and the mouth remains shut.
The Monday clip earned more than half-a-million views. The account, which now has more than 10,000 followers, was started by two anonymous Milan-based Greek women who are roommates. The model is a stylist and the photographer is a set designer and filmmaker. They started the page for fun after they began to photograph themselves trying out different samples of clothes.
