I sometimes mix a little lemon juice and curd and apply it on my face for de-tanning since we get tanned during outdoor shoots. I also use milk as a cleanser and rosewater as a toner. During winter, I grind dry orange peels and make a paste by mixing this with raw turmeric and some milk. Using this as a face pack for 10 minutes works wonders for the skin. During other seasons, just applying the pulp of a seasonal fruit helps. I condition my hair with a blend of curd and eggs once a fortnight and always oil it before a shampoo. Drinking at least four to five litres of water is a must during summer. |

Take a teaspoon of gelatine with water daily for a month to ease out the problem of brittle nails.
I am a 19-year-old girl. I have combination skin type and my hair is very dry. I have two problems: (a) the area around my mouth and my forehead is darker as compared to the rest of my face. I used to be fair but now I am getting darker. How can I get healthy skin both on my face and my body? (b) my hair is long and straight. It is very dull and frizzy. I tried applying henna but it has made my hair drier. I shampoo every two days. How can I get lustrous mane which is soft and silky?

Use a scrub made from the following: 2 tsp almond powder, 1 tsp sandalwood powder, 1 tsp grated cucumber, 1 tsp China clay and a little milk. Apply all over the skin and leave for 15minutes, then scrub off gently. As for the other problem, oil your hair with olive oil twice a week and apply 4 tsb mayonnaise to the hair and wrap a hot towel around the head. Keep on for some time and wash your hair with a mild herbal shampoo and conditioner.
