Acoustic Nights at Whats In D Name (WIDN) on Camac Street is a busy affair on Thursdays. The latest edition saw band Humsufi (above) get the crowd grooving to soulful tracks like Afreen afreen, Allah ke bande, Lagan lagi tumse mann ki lagan and Dil diyan gallan. What made the night special? Some Kolkata Knight Riders who dropped in at the pub post-11.30pm to unwind before their first IPL 8 match on Sunday against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Eden Gardens.
From clicking selfies to posing with fans, all-rounder Knight Chris Lynn was relaxed as he was seen foot-tapping to the live music. Dressed in a cool grey tee and denims, he was Mr Popular among the crowd.
We spotted Ruchika Soni stealing a moment to click a snap. “I had come here for the acoustic nights since I love it and then suddenly we learned that the KKR players are here. I like Lynn since he has been one of the best Knights,” she said.
New Knight and bowler Javon Searles remained perched on a chair for most of the time and soaked in the ambience.
Motivational master and explorer Mike Horn chilled with the boys, had beer and cheered along with the crowd when the KKR anthem was played.
