Netflix rules when it comes to StyleInspo. The shows to look at for style upgrade and more:

Soy Georgina

Georgina Rodriguez is a diva. The show is a journey about her life, her daily routine, her philanthropic side, her beginnings, children, friends and family and her strong relationship with the man in her life, Christiano Ronaldo. It is a look at celebrity from the other end. Two things leave a mark. Her attitude, calm and in control over everything despite the hullabaloo, and the power of all things luxe.

Brands, shopping, yatching, fast cars, awards, the list is endless. You are introduced to haute couture brands, serially. The black dress she wears through the series with a bling watch and a bling bracelet, and big bling rings...oh yeah! Sneakers, jeans, track pants, joggers, T-shirts, shirts and fine jewellery. What fun combinations. As we see some of the best destinations around the world, this series is a delight for the senses. Pairing jewellery with lounge wear is a hot trend now.

Queer Eye

Sometimes all one needs is a makeover. With this gang of five very handsome men, ‘Fab Five’, Queer Eye gets people “moving”. Aesthetics add a brilliant dimension to everyday living. Stylist Tan France uses a trademark French Tuck on almost everyone. A cute trick to add some hip chic instantly, plus basic fashion wins here. Tan shows how to combine outfits and add accessories to upgrade a regular look. Chef Antoni Porowski is smouldering, quite literally too, as he whips up easy recipes. Bobby Berk does the interiors of a home/office. Lots of style tips are available about colours and textures. Karamo Brown speaks his way through the individual’s heart and mind, arriving at a breakthrough moment, a very important aspect for personal choices. Finally, we have Jonathan Van Ness, celeb hairdresser, who snips and dances his way into everyone’s heart using his expertise, tips and flamboyance. The big takeaway from the show are the tips. With five experts on board, it is a powerhouse of knowledge.

Emily in Paris

Emily played by Lily Collins is an example of excess fashion. One can see prints mixed to the hilt and colours played with uninhibitedly. It can be too much for many and even then style cues can be picked up. A decade-specific retro always perks up a regular day. Imagine adding a 60’s inspired coat or sunglasses to your style now. A mention for Sylvie, Emily’s Boss, who is a svelte French woman. Thigh high slits, dull gold accents, a bright red satin suit — this character should be a go-to for anyone who wants to a lesson on power dressing. Emily’s friend Mindy also has a bold personal style. She is about bling bustiers, short shorts, mini skirts. Talk about body confident. Camille, the French babe, is all about easy chic. Her red sunglasses in a few frames makes the style meter sizzle. The men in the series have interesting fashion sensibilities. Bright suits, cravats, prints, tussled “kept unkept” hair, perfectly tailored formal jackets and suits, well-groomed beards: it’s all here. Love this show for the many hidden style gems, haute couture and the romance of Paris.
