It’s coming soon to a TV near you. M-Channel, launched last week across Europe, is going to make musical hopefuls sit up and take heart. It’s part of the Sky TV bouquet, and will give tuition to anyone with an ear for music — from guitar to bass and drums to vocals, you can take your pick. The brains behind the channel also hope to rope in renowned artistes to pass on the secrets of their success. There are slots for percussion, keyboard and guitar right now, but autumn will see the focus turning to classical music. And that’s not all. There will also be documentaries and features on the lives of famous musicians. Let’s hope it beams across India pretty soon.
