We wrote obituaries of several items related to make-up, beauty and fashion during the pandemic, but many of them were premature. Lipstick did not go away. It lurks quietly under masks, maybe a bit diminished, but very much there. One accessory, however, that is really impossible to wear under a mask is a largish nose ornament. Not the nose stud, not the small nose ring, but the elaborate, intricate, larger-than-nose ring that can add so much beauty to a traditional Indian woman’s dress. Maybe that’s why some designers are turning these giant naths into earrings or pendants. Here’s to large nose rings! Pure nostalgia!
