Mood & music: Bollywood’s beloved music director Pritam and his gang of six singers brought the house down at Seagram’s 100 Pipers Music CDs presents The Telegraph & The Saturday Club Xmas Eve in association with Manyavar.

“I usually feel nervous before shows but today there are so many friends and family in the crowd that I feel like I’m at Milieu (his alma mater Presidency College’s fest),” joked Pritam, who was performing at his first-ever club event. And then began a medley of dance numbers and soulful tunes — Daru desi to The breakup song, Mere rashke qamar to Ilahi, Bulleya to Dangal dangal… And when they sang Balam pichkari, the crowd pretty much went berserk.

She was wearing: Reds and maroons — on dresses, jackets and gowns. Short skirts paired with stockings, off-shoulder dresses and leather jackets were also spotted. Boots and flats were favoured over heels.

He was wearing: Jackets with pocket squares or cravats, and a few bandhgalas.

Sip & bite: Roast turkey from the club kitchen and nachos and tacos from Cocoa Bakery were the hot favourites. There was also biryani, pizza, burger, kebabs and Chinese fare on offer. Seagram’s 100 Pipers was the top tipple.

“I’ve been spending Xmas Eve at The Saturday Club for the past 10-12 years, but never have I seen it come alive like this,” said actor-director Arindam Sil, with wife Shukla (right) and daughter Sonika (left) and their gang of friends.
At midnight, a member in the audience offered Pritam a Santa cap, which he promptly donned and continued singing.

Pritam and his army of melody makers — Amit ‘Bulleya’ Mishra; Gerua girl Antara Mitra; Nakash Aziz of Sari ke fall sa fame; Ash King, the voice of Te amo; Jonita Gandhi, fresh from The breakup song; and Sreerama Chandra, winner of Indian Idol 2010 and the voice of numbers like Subhanallah — took over

The Saturday Club on Xmas Eve for a night to remember.

Halfway through the evening, the women in the audience fell head over heels for Sreerama Chandra (picture right), who moved just well as he crooned hit songs like Ae dil hai mushkil, Mere dholna and Pee loon. When he jumped off the stage to sing from atop the speaker box, the ladies got up close and wouldn’t let go!
