Shoots are what usually keep me well and truly busy over the weekends. These inevitably start off at the designated hour, but hardly ever end on time, pretty much ensuring that I can?t make any plans in advance. In any case, if there?s a late pack-up, there?s no question of going anywhere except back home, but if the shoot ends earlier, I do try and catch up with friends.
On the occasions that I get a free Sunday and shooting wraps up early on Saturday, I try and make it a night out. I meet up with my good friend Golu, and go out for dinner, or occasionally hit Dublin or Shisha. If eating out is the only thing on the agenda, the Stadel is one of my favourite places, for you get good food in an ambience that?s nice yet not over-crowded. But otherwise, if we go to a nightclub, more often than not, we end up at a dhaba afterwards. They?re among the few places open at that hour anyway, so we usually end up grabbing a bite at Azad Hind, Sharma or Jai Hind Dhaba.
Come Sunday and it?s time to surface really late, and spend the greater part of my day with my daughter Anwesha. We play games and watch cartoons together, I make her do her homework and maybe even take her for a swim to the Princeton Club in the evening. I have four dogs and playing around with them accounts for several enjoyable hours as well. In any case, I steer clear of overcrowded places on Saturdays and Sundays ? unless it?s catching a film in a late-night show. All in all, weekends off are a pretty quiet affair for me, and that?s just the way I like them to be.
