Being self-employed means that any day can be a Sunday. That?s the best part of working on your own and I enjoy the freedom of calling the shots. It is a wonderful feeling to wake up one morning and decide that it will be a holiday. Since I am a part of the service industry, I often have to work on Saturdays and Sundays. When my clients take some time off during the weekends, it translates into work time for me.
When I am not busy with work, I spend time with my near and dear ones. I love travelling during the weekends because I feel not much time is wasted. The favourite memory I have of a weekend holiday is when Rohit Bal, Rina Dhaka, Tarun Tahiliani and I went on a trip to New York. We had a nice time because we were completely switched off from work. The one thing I hate doing during weekends is being caught in a room watching TV. For nine years I have gone through that phase of life in New York. I have had a complete turnaround now. The outdoor life appeals to me more.
I often take my jeep and ride out into deserts with family and friends. Or I head for the Narlai sanctuary that is about three hours from Jodhpur. The village there is named after Narad muni and though it is small, it has 300 temples. I find the place very fascinating. This is my idea of enjoying myself ? discovering Rudyard Kipling?s India.
