Most Indian fashion designers don?t really have the luxury of weekends. That?s the privilege of big international names such as Armani who don?t just enjoy their weekends, but own fancy weekend resorts as well! No such luck for us. Usually, I have a show in some city in India or abroad ? and naturally, it?s over the weekend.

So I try and make the best of my free time when my workers take a day off during festivals. And yes, there are some perfect Sundays when I am free to do what I choose to ? and it?s not work. These are rare occasions when I can actually spend the day doing nothing, though I must admit that eating all day is definitely on the agenda.

I am a very lazy person and love nothing better than just being a couch potato. As a matter of fact, I like to call myself a bed potato for I could lie in bed all day simply staring at the ceiling. Since I hate venturing out on a holiday, I watch films at home and do mundane things such as clean a cupboard or two. The children are happy to have me home and we end up doing lots of things together including getting their homework done! I don?t spoil my day by venturing into the kitchen at all, as every time I do, I start cleaning up. Everything I touch seems to be messy.

The perfect Sunday is to me a very lazy morning followed by a lavish and leisurely lunch that stretches into the evening. The evening is devoted to my children?s homework.
