First and foremost, we actors hardly ever get the luxury of having a weekend off. In fact, a number of shoots are scheduled over weekends and especially on Sundays. This ensures that I work through most Saturdays and Sundays, but if I get two off days by chance, I put them to good use by spending time at home. Working through the week makes me exhausted and so relaxing at home is the only natural option.
When I am at home, I like to unwind simply by listening to music. I am very fond of Western classical music though I do try and catch up on contemporary music as well.
My day invariably starts late on free Sundays. It?s a perfect time to just be myself, chill out over a leisurely cup of coffee and relax with a book in hand. I am a bookworm but I prefer more philosophical books than fiction. I also practise Buddhism and meditate whenever I am not working. It keeps me calm and acts as a major stress-reliever. I am not a TV addict and restrict my viewing to meaningful programmes. I am also a big movie-buff and love period films a lot.
Parties are a big no-no for me on Sundays. But I do like to go out with my friends on Saturday nights and party. Sunday evenings are again spent with friends, dining out at such restaurants as Olive, Indigo and Royal China. Since I stay in South Mumbai, it?s also easy for me to drop into art galleries and theatre halls and catch up on the latest art exhibitions and stage shows.
