nWhenever anyone asks me about my favourite holiday or place, nothing else springs to mind except Kashmir. Even though it is my hometown, I’d love nothing better than to holiday there, with my family and friends all around me.

Everything works in favour of Kashmir ? the gorgeous landscapes, the warmth of the Kashmiri people and of course the amazing food. I just love Wazwan cuisine and my favourite dishes are goshtaba (meatballs in a sour curd gravy) and rista (again spicy minced meatballs). Now even though I stay in Srinagar, I always head to places like Gulmarg and Pahalgaon whenever I’m there. These are perfect for trekking.

I left Kashmir in 2003, when I came to Delhi to study. After that I moved to Mumbai and haven’t been back to Kashmir since. These past few years have been a busy time in my life, but I can’t wait to make it back to Kashmir. And I’m hoping to do that soon.
