A mad rush for the ‘cut-off marks’, admission lists gaping at you, or spoilt for choice…the last few months have been crazy! Good luck as you embark on a new collegian journey. Here is a bit of inspiration for those looking a little glum. In 2007, more than thirty years after Bill Gates dropped out from Harvard, he was awarded an honourary degree by his alma mater. James Cameron, film director, dropped out of college, married a waitress and landed up being a truck driver. Steve Jobs, founder of Apple, attended only six months of college. Tired of being called a dropout, Azim Premji of Wipro decided to get an engineering degree from Stanford at the age of 50. Just to share, this columnist attended only two years of college out of three…but that’s a story for another day.
