So you don't have a date on Valentine's Day? No problem. Here are seven reasons why it is not such a big deal. Don't let all the mushy couples get you down. Enjoy February 14 your own way. Team YOU wishes you joy.

Your relationship is with food

• The first thing you think of when you wake up is what's for breakfast. You plan dinner while having lunch and next day's breakfast while having dinner. Admit it, the most passionate relationship you have is with food. It is a healthy relationship too for food is always there for you - and it never fights with you over the TV remote. Even better, you will never be bored with this love because of the sheer variety of dishes available. So, enjoy your feasting. It's a love that can really last.

Your wallet will thank you

• Valentine's Day may be a day of love but there is no love lost between it and your wallet. Having a Valentine demands sacrifices, monetary ones! While every penny you spend on a soulmate is worth it, think of all the money you are saving on flowers and chocolates, wining and dining by not having one. And you don't have to pinch pennies all year to build up a nestegg for Valentine's Day.

Friends are your life

• Who needs a Valentine when you have three? Boyfriends or girlfriends will come and go, but your friends will always be around so it is only fair that you put them first. Whatever you do is fun with them, you will not have to spend days planning the "perfect date". So hang out, just chill and celebrate the day surrounded by people who love you.

Your pets are your world

• Your four-legged, feathered or finned friend is never upset if you keep them waiting, forget their birthdays or go on a GNO (girl's/guy's night out); it is no wonder that you would prefer to spend your day of love with them.

It’s your choice

• Just like Valentine's Day is a construct of gifting companies, happily coupled too is one that has been fed to us - by TV, books, movies. You don't have to have a soulmate to be happy, being single has very many advantages, starting with being able to do whatever you like on February 14.

You have a love affair with TV

• You'd rather spend Valentine's Day catching up with Harvey Spectre (of Suits fame) or Rachel Green (Friends). It's tough to find a guy or gal to match up to them!
