AS TOLD TO CHITRA PAPNAI Published 19.11.05, 12:00 AM

The weekend is the time to do the unusual. It’s the time when I like to close my eyes and unwind. The basic idea is to relax, so I do whatever it takes to get rid of stress and day-to-day anxiety. I like to do things which I don’t get to do on weekdays. I get up pretty late around 9.30am and hit the bed around 10.30pm ? that’s if I’m not partying. My weekend dress code is casual ? jeans and T-shirts. Saris are for dressy occasions. I’m also the proud owner of a huge Saint Bernard whom I give a bath and shampoo on Saturdays.

Sundays are all about pampering myself. It’s the day to take a massage, a facial and relax at a good spa. When it comes to eating out, I love to visit Art Chilli restaurant outside Sainik Farms for good Mediterranean food. My favourite dish is called Singapore Mee. One ritual I have followed for over 25 years is taking some time out and meeting up with my close friend Anju Munjal every Saturday for lunch. We have been friends since we were in college.

The books I enjoy reading on weekends need not be very heavy or serious ones. It could even be a comic book or books which offer an insight into life and are inspirational ? something like what Paulo Coelho writes.

In the evenings, I watch TV or go out with my family to catch the latest movie. My daughter Ankita is doing her BA in Business Studies in the UK. So on weekends, I look forward to calling her up and chatting with her. That’s got to be the best part of my evening!
