I am an 18-year-old woman. I don’t know my skin type but right in the morning I find my nose and chin to be oily. Does that mean I have combination skin ? Also, I walk to college each day so could you suggest a sunscreen for me and also how much SPF it should contain?

You might have combination skin. But to make certain that you do, you must first carefully cleanse your face and pat it dry. Allow the skin to rest without any other products on it for at least 30 minutes to up to an hour. Then using a clean tissue, gently wipe the skin on the forehead, nose and chin. Examine the tissue for oily residue. Now perform the same test on your cheeks and jaws to make sure that your skin in those areas is different from your T-zone. If it is, then you probably have combination skin.
You must cleanse your skin with a gentle, moisturising soap-free cleanser that can help strip away excess oil while also moisturising any dry skin areas and hydrating the remainder of your skin. Whenever possible, purchase skincare and cosmetic products which are specifically made for combination skin. Follow the directions of each skincare product specifically. Cleanse the skin daily. Moisturise at least once a day but do not over moisturise the oily areas of skin. Sunscreen must be used everyday to protect against the sun’s damaging rays. Choose sunscreens with only titanium dioxide or/ and zinc oxide as the active ingredients. Use an SPF 30

I stick to Himalaya for my facewash and use a M.A.C compact as it gives a very natural look. Revlon is my preferred kajal brand and when it comes to lipsticks I always go for shades of pink from Chambor and Colorbar. I am blessed with normal hair and use a L’Oreal shampoo and conditioner. I try to massage my hair using coconut oil once in a while and make it a point to go for a hair spa twice a month. I also believe that one must drink plenty of water for healthy and glowing skin. |
