Calcutta, June 27 :     The West Bengal Electronics Industry Development Corporation Ltd (Webel) will convert some of its loss-making manufacturing units and joint ventures into service-oriented entities. The company?s managing director Subhendu Mitra said: ?We have already approached the state government with our business plan to revive these units. The traditional manufacturing units need to be revived in the face of competition from both domestic and international companies.? We would like to clear the balance sheets of these companies soon,? he said. WorldTel, which is studying the possibility of Internet community centres across the state, is yet to submit its report. ?We are waiting for their report and only then we can give shape to our business plans,?
