TCS arm in $2bn deal

Mumbai, Nov. 9: Diligenta, the UK-based subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) that is engaged in business process outsourcing, has won a $2.2-billion contract from financial services company Friends Life.

The 15-year contract with the UK-based provider of pensions, investments and insurance is the second-largest order won by TCS after it received a $2.5-billion deal in 2008 from Citigroup.

Phiroze Vandrevala, director of TCS and MD & vice-chairman of Diligenta said, “Our unparalleled experience in the life and pension sector along with our unique platform capability enabled us to win this deal.”

The TCS share closed 1.77 per cent higher at Rs 1,123 on the Bombay Stock Exchange today.
