Calcutta, March 27: Reliance Infocomm has acquired land in the port town of Haldia to set up a broadband IT infrastructure park.

The Haldia Development Authority (HDA) has allotted 4.45 acres within the 20.4-acre Haldia IT Park complex to Reliance for which it has already paid 50 per cent of the cost.

Reliance has submitted a project proposal to HDA and is expected to make an initial investment of Rs 15 crore for developing the land. The company has conducted a soil test recently.

Company officials confirmed that Reliance has been allotted land in Haldia for a communication project.
