Calcutta, Sept. 21: Apollo Hospitals has teamed up with Reliance Infocomm to provide telemedicine facilities to patients in far-flung areas.
“Apollo Hospitals will leverage the network of 240 Web Worlds in 105 locations. These Web Worlds will offer access to Apollo Telemedicine Networking Foundation,” said Sarup Chowdhary, CEO of Reliance Web World.
Apollo Telemedicine Networking Foundation is an integrated multi-speciality telemedicine system with over 80 stations and 2000 in-house specialists. Chowdhary explained the process a patient will have to follow for taking medical consultation through telemedicine.
He said scanning and digitisation, along with storage (hardware and software), would cost Rs 100. The patient will be charged Rs 625 for the videoconferencing facility and Rs 350 for consultation.
