Calcutta, Sept. 16: City-based engineering firm Patton Group has set up two warehouses in the US to ensure timely delivery of goods to its clients.
The warehouses have come up in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Norfolk, Virginia, that are strategically close to customers.
"Nowadays, it is not customers' expectations but mere requirements that one cannot supply two days before or three days later than the specified date of deliveries. There is no room for excuses," said Sanjay Budhia, managing director of Patton Group.
"This situation is not for one customer but the entire marketplace which operates in a similar manner. To sustain and meet these challenges, it has become necessary for us to have our own back-up supply chain logistics system in place," he added.
Patton exports steel stampings and EMT fitting products to Fortune 500 companies in the US.
It has five plants in Bengal, spread over 500,000 sq ft, catering to the needs of electrical trade.
