Calcutta, May 13: Emami Ltd's fourth-quarter consolidated net profit rose 24.4 per cent to Rs 138.33 crore from Rs 111.15 crore a year ago, on the back of higher sales.
Net sales of the FMCG major grew 24.22 per cent to Rs 553.66 crore from Rs 445.71 crore in the year-ago period.
Notwithstanding unseasonal rains, the company posted a strong topline growth led by the robust performances of its major brands. The launches have strengthened Emami's presence in the market place and have actively contributed to the quarter's growth.
Emami's international business continued to grow strongly by 48 per cent during the quarter, led by Saarc, GCC and CIS countries.
Director Mohan Goenka said, "Both our domestic and international businesses have done extremely well during the quarter, bettering industry average. Despite a challenging and competitive environment, coupled with a short lived winter, we were able to efficiently manage external challenges to post a very healthy and strong result."
