Govt clears 26 FDIs

New Delhi, March 26: The government today approved 26 foreign direct investment (FDI) proposals that will bring in Rs 1,042.9 crore. This includes Neo Sport’s Rs 258.53-crore infusion of funds by issuing fresh equity. The proposals were approved on the recommendation of t he Foreign Investment Promotion Board.

EPFO snub

New Delhi, March 26: The Employees Provident Fund Organisation’s advisory committee today turned down a finance ministry proposal to invest up to 15 per cent of its corpus in stock markets. The ministry had proposed to park up to Rs 1,82,000 crore in shares and equity linked schemes of mutual funds.

ONGC funds

New Delhi, March 26: ONGC will hold back fresh investments in Imperial Energy, but plans to go ahead with new projects, ONGC chairman and managing director R.S. Sharma said.

Birla estate

Calcutta, March 26: Kashinath Tapuria, one of the executors of Priyamvada Birla’s 1982 will, today sought appointment of a retired Supreme Court judge as individual administrator of the Rs 5,000-crore MP Birla group estate.

Air fare relief

Calcutta, March 26: Air India has announced special fares for 148 domestic sectors across the country. These special fares of Rs 1,891, Rs 2,276, Rs 2,611 and Rs 2,901 will apply from tomorrow.
