New Delhi, Feb. 26: The tariff bidding for Odisha and Tamil Nadu ultra mega power projects (UMPP) have been extended by 8 to 10 weeks on the request of the developers. The final price bids were slated to be opened today. However, it has been postponed as developers sought more time to put in their bids, officials in Power Finance Corporation, the nodal agency for UMPPs in the country, said.
New Delhi, Feb. 26: The government today appointed Dinesh K. Sarraf as the new head of Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC), the nation’s most profitable company, rejecting oil minister M. Veerappa Moily’s proposal to give Sudhir Vasudeva a post-retirement extension. The appointments committee of the cabinet approved the appointment of Sarraf, who is the managing director of ONGC’s overseas arm, ONGC Videsh Ltd.
Mumbai, Feb. 26: Air India today joined the fare war by offering up to a 30 per cent discount on advance ticket purchases on select local flights and in the domestic leg of international flights. Booking for tickets under the scheme will start tomorrow and continue till March 1. It will cover the travel period from March 29 to September 30.
