HUL profit falls

Mumbai, Jan. 25: Hindustan Unilever (HUL) has posted a 1.79 per cent drop in net profit at Rs 637.51 crore for the December quarter and hinted at a price hike to offset rising input cost. “The cost inflation is going to remain high. There needs to be pricing action and it will have to be judicious,” HUL’s chief financial officer R. Sridhar said.

RIL township

Mumbai, Jan. 25: Reliance Industries’ subsidiary Reliance Ventures Ltd and Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services (IL&FS) have entered into an agreement whereby IL&FS will become a strategic partner and co-promoter in developing a model economic township and other infrastructure facilities at Jhajjar in Haryana.

ONGC find

Calcutta, Jan. 25: ONGC has found a gas indication from the shale gas pilot R&D project in Bengal, a top ONGC official said without giving further details as tests were not yet over.

TIL funds

Calcutta, Jan. 25: TIL Ltd will raise up to Rs 250 crore as equity through private equity or institutional placement to part finance their greenfield project at Kharagpur.

Sterlite net

New Delhi, Jan. 25: Sterlite’s consolidated net profit rose 60.27 per cent to Rs 1,101 crore in the third quarter against Rs 686.93 crore a year ago.
