Air Sahara expansion strategy

New Delhi, Oct. 12: As part of a major multi-million dollar fleet expansion programme, Air Sahara will acquire eight regional jets in the next four month with the first two joining its fleet this month. Air Sahara CEO U. K. Bose said that the regional jets would enable the private carrier expand its network throughout the country and enter the feeder routes which are at present being serviced by Indian Airlines’ subsidiary, Alliance Air, and Jet Airways.

Forex reserves

Mumbai, Oct. 12: Continuing the upward march, India’s foreign exchange reserves crossed $ 63 billion during the week ended October 4 largely buoyed by the revaluation of the dollar vis-a-vis euro and fresh inflows. The country’s foreign exchange reserves rose by $ 538 million at $ 63,259 million in the reporting week, according to the weekly statistical supplement issued by the RBI.

Pune, Oct. 12: Chairman and managing director of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Prithipal Singh today said the entry of BSNL in mobile telephony may result in a further slash in air time rates, but declined to reveal the tariff plan.
