Washington, Feb. 4: Nine influential US Senators have urged Germany to stop Hamburg-based bank Europäisch-Iranische Handelsbank (EIH) from routing funds that could be used to support Iran’s nuclear programme, warning that all entities doing so will be debarred from the US financial system. EIH was sanctioned by the US in September 2010 for its facilitation of Iran’s proliferation activities.
New Delhi, Feb. 4: Air India has posted an operating surplus for the second month in a row with flights to 106 out of 179 destinations registering cash profit in December. The ailing national carrier posted Rs 49.48 crore worth of operating surplus against Rs 21.66 crore in November, an Air India spokesperson said.
