Mumbai, Feb. 24: Vivek Chaand Sehgal, chairman of Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd, the flagship company of Samvardhana Motherson Group, was today named EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2016.
Sehgal will represent India at the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Monte Carlo from June 7-11. The award is now in its 18th year in the country.
Nandan Nilekani was honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) - the Aadhaar initiative.
Abhay Firodia, chairman of Force Motors, took home an award for Business Transformation.
Uday Shankar, chairman and CEO of Star India, was named Entrepreneurial CEO.
While Chandubhai Virani, wholetime director at Balaji Wafers, won in the consumer products & retail category, Vishwavir Ahuja, managing director and CEO of RBL Bank, won in the financial services segment.
In life sciences & healthcare, the winners were Samprada Singh (chairman emeritus) and Basudeo Narain Singh (executive chairman) of Alkem Laboratories.
In manufacturing, Hari Mohan Bangur, managing director of Shree Cement, was the winner.

The awards were presented by Piyush Goyal, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy and Mines and Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Commerce & Industry. They also presented awards across nine categories in the presence of over 400 guests including eminent business leaders.
