Bihar Mahila Udyog Sangh is all set to host its 21st annual fair at Sinha Library from February 19 to 23.

Pushpa Chopra, the association president, said: "Handloom products will be the main attraction of this fair. Over 135 stalls have been put up to attract customers. Entrepreneurs from Mumbai, Calcutta, Baroda, Pune, among other places, will showcase their handmade products."

Embroidered suit and sari, artificial jewellery, home décor, homemade pickles, papad, namkeen products, agricultural products, scarves, woollen clothes, cotton kurtis and leggings, jute items and many other products will be on sale at the fair.

Nalini Singh, a new entrepreneur at the Sangh, will showcase her jute products. She said: "I have even displayed my products at Singapore International fair and I got a good response."

This year, food lovers can also taste delicacies at the fair. Around 12 stalls will sell fast food, including litti chokha, stuffed paratha, pakoda, south Indian and Chinese delicacies, bhel puri, pittha and jalebi. Other new entrepreneurs, Manju Sinha and Nikki, will display their products like hanging vertical garden and landscaping.

Pushpa said: "The main objective behind launching this fair is to earn recognition as well as promotion of arts and crafts in the international market."

She added: "But it is always a tough challenge to organise this mela every year because of the funds crisis as the government provides very little support. We want a permanent place for this fair, so that women can put up their products and earn money."
