Residents no longer need to go to Delhi or Darjeeling to sip on their favourite Keventers milkshakes.
The well-known milkshake brand will inaugurate its first outlet in Patna next week.
The brand brings its classic milkshakes in glass bottles sized 500ml and 300ml of different varieties, including strawberry, chocolate, Oreo crumble, chocolate hazelnut, butterscotch, blueberry and kit-kat among others.
Soumaya Shree, a resident of Bailey Road, said she never missed a chance to visit the outlet in Delhi. "I like caramello and melting rose flavour. I will visit the outlet when it's opened here. It's not like any other milkshake. I hope they won't compromise with the taste," said Soumaya.
Aakash Deep, the director of Sarvodaya Foods, which has been designated as the master franchise of Keventers in Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh, said around 27 units would be launched in the three states of which, 10 would be in Bihar.
"The first outlet will be launched next week at Boring Road," said Aakash. "The outlet would entice milkshake lovers with 25 different flavours. The price ranges between Rs 60 and Rs 200 according to the size and flavour."
SK Puri resident Pankaj Kumar said: "If I were to name a place for shakes, it has to be Keventers. All the flavours, be it chocolate, strawberry, butterscotch, vanilla and blueberry to name a few, are splendid."
Aakash added: "Apart from shakes, the outlet will also serve ice cream and cold beverages. It will be the best hangout place for all to enjoy an occasional treat. Our aim is to open more such outlets."
In 1925, dairy technologist Edward Keventer set up his dairies in Delhi, Aligarh, Calcutta and Darjeeling.
The business was later taken over by R.K. Dalmia, once the country became independent. "Last year in Delhi, Agastya Mihir Dalmia, the third generation scion of the Dalmia family reintroduced and recreated the brand giving it a new look," Aakash said.
College student Annu Priya said: "I wish they open up a few more outlets in different locations as Boring Road is quite far from my place. I really like the taste and the shakes are good for health. I also like the glass bottles which I fall in love with and can use it to make hanging lamps."
