Patna, May 18: The Opposition today handed over a complaint letter to Governor Devnand Konwar on the issue of Bihar co-operative minister Ramadhar Singh.

Ramadhar has been allegedly absconding for the past 16 years after Aurangabad court had declared him an absconder in 1995 in a case pertaining to a provocative speech he purportedly made at Madanpur in December 1992 soon after the Babri Masjid demolition.

Opposition leaders of both Houses, Abdul Bari Siddiqui, the leader of Opposition in the legislative Assembly and his counterpart in the legislative council Ghulam Gaus along with RJD state unit president Ramchandra Purve along with other RJD leaders went to the governor’s house to lodge the complaint.

After coming out of the governor’s house, Siddiqui said: “We have given 24 hours to chief minister Nitish Kumar to sack Ramadhar Singh. Actually he should have taken the mater into consideration in only one hour, but the time is over and we met the governor as he is the constitutional head of the state.”
